Years ago, up in Lake Placid at Jones Outfitters I found this fly and made the mistake of buying just one. We'll every time I tied it on the fish went wild throwing themselves on the hook. I dropped it on Riverside Drive, just past the 86 flats on the side of the road. I never asked what it was called so whenever I looked for it no luck. Today I found it same fly just different colors. Mine was in red wire. Can't wait to tie a bunch up.

Midwinter Blues
An all too familiar sight, my snowblower, lurking in the background hidden snug in their tubes are my rods awaiting opening day. Mmm, how many days till..........

Opal Tinsel Caddis
This is an old video from Saturday morning fly tying sessions. There are more posted on Art Flick TU website. Nothing like a snowy winters afternoon to tie up some flies, watch some new ones on YouTube and enjoy a mug of hot chocolate. How many days to opening day, pitchers and catchers, more like pheasant tails and hendricksons!

Puff Diddie
Found this on You Tube and looked like something fun to tie up. They recommend that a CDC dressing was needed like Frogs Fanny and some natural preen oil dressing for durability. I figure one fish and time for a new one. Can be tied up as an olive or sulphur.

Welcome!
Hi opening day is still a ways off, but time to tie up some flies and clean and organize your boxes. Over a cup of coffee a suggestion was made that a blog was needed so members can share flies, fish stories and river conditions. Enjoy the ride and let's see where this one lands.
